Socorro says it is taking action vs. fighting in parks

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The City of Socorro says it has been made aware of “social-media promoted” fighting rings taking place within local parks and is taking action to protect the community.

“The City does not tolerate unsafe, hostile or violent activities in any City of Socorro family-friendly spaces or on City property,” it said in a news release on Saturday morning, Nov. 22.

“We ask the public to immediately report any organized aggressive or violent activity, such as fighting rings occurring in City of Socorro recreational areas, including parks and community centers. Reports should be made to the Socorro Police Department so appropriate action can be taken,” the City of Socorro said…
