Dawn Prince Appointed Interim Town Manager as Gilbert Prepares for Leadership Transition in 2026

The Gilbert Town Council has appointed Dawn Prince as Interim Town Manager, effective January 3, 2026. This follows the planned departure of Patrick Banger, who will leave on January 2, 2026, after 14 years as Town Manager. Banger will become City Manager for Glendale. Prince is currently Gilbert’s Assistant Town Manager and has more than 20 years of experience in state and local government, including work in Douglas and Peoria, Arizona.

Prince currently oversees departments such as Police, Fire, Community Resources, and Emergency Management. She also has experience in budget, finance, and parks and recreation. Prince holds degrees from Charter Oak State College and Webster University. She stated her goal is to maintain continuity and high standards during the transition.
