Resident displaced after major Kaimuki house fire

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A fire tore through a home in Kaimuki last night, displacing its 75-year-old resident and drawing a huge team of emergency responders.

HFD responded to a fire on 2nd Avenue after receiving a 911 call around 9:38 p.m. last night, Nov. 21.

Once HFD arrived, they found a home engulfed in flames and its resident, a 75-year-old male, outside, HFD said.

HFD responded with 10 units and 38 personnel to tame the flame. After securing a water supply and initiating an immediate defensive fire attack, the fire was under control by 10:05 p.m. and completely extinguished by 10:12 p.m., HFD said…
