ANCHORAGE, AK (Alaska’s News Source) – Temperatures remained below 32 degrees Friday in Southcentral Alaska, adding to the icy and slippery road hazards as a thaw/freeze pattern continues.
Light snow and freezing rain potential continue into the early afternoon, with even more snow expected in Homer. A Winter Weather Advisory will last through 6 a.m. Saturday in Southwest Kenai Peninsula, such as Homer and Southern Kachemak Bay. Snow accumulations of 1–4 inches in Homer are likely, with 6–10 inches expected in surrounding higher elevations. Moderate to heavy rainfall will move through the Copper River Basin today, with some light snow still remaining in the forecast for Mat-Su and Anchorage. Cloudy skies will take over overnight, and more potential for light snow will continue Saturday morning.
