Music Matters: Unforgettable local shows I’m thankful for

A couple of months ago — not to humblebrag — I journeyed to MetLife Stadium to catch one of the Oasis reunion shows. Opening for the Britpop gods was Cage the Elephant, who went so hard that even the folks in the cheap seats near me were rocking out. It was one of those sets that had folks around me, who seemed largely unfamiliar with the 2000s alt-rock stars, buzzing.

As good as that performance was, it reminded me of just how lucky I was to see Cage the Elephant at the Palace Theatre in 2016. That was a performance so remarkable that, despite not being particularly fond of the band prior to the show, I still find myself waxing poetic about that concert years later.

Rekindling the memory of that show got me thinking about the concerts I’m most grateful to have experienced over the years…
