New Jersey driver clocked at 104mph, Vermont State Police say

BENNINGTON COUNTY, Vt. (WRGB) — A New Jersey man is charged with excessive speed after a Vermont State Trooper reportedly clocked him at nearly twice the speed limit.

Shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday, a Trooper with the Vermont State Police observed a motor vehicle traveling Northbound on Route 7 around mile marker 30.0 in the Town of Manchester. According to state police, the motor vehicle was traveling at an imprudent speed in “high excess” of the posted speed limit of 55mph. Through the use of doppler sounding RADAR the motor vehicle’s speed was confirmed at traveling 104mph.
