CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — The Charleston Fire and Police departments have received a federal grant from the Department of Homeland Security to enhance public safety at the Port of Charleston.
The grant will provide the fire department with a portable pump and advanced marine training to address what officials identified as a gap in their ability to respond to ship-based fires.
