Rabies Alert Issued for Area Near High Springs After Stray Kitten Tests Positive

The Florida Department of Health in Alachua County (DOH-Alachua) has issued a rabies alert. This follows confirmation of rabies in a stray kitten found west of High Springs, near County Road 236, on November 6, 2025. The alert will last for 60 days and covers an area in Alachua County bordered by NW County Road 236, NW 190 Ave, Interstate 75, and NW County Road 236 to the west.
