Laughing for a cause: Comedy event raises money for GR food pantry

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Michigan comedians are teaming up for a night of laughs and giving in Grand Rapids.

On Nov. 29, the Fall Comedy Harvest will bring comedians and the community together to support SECOM Resource Center, an organization working to alleviate hunger and improve equitable access to food, education, and economic opportunities for low-income families. Half of the event’s proceeds will go directly to the food pantry.

GRPS students donate food to support families in the city

Performers will include Grand Rapids-based Mike Logan and Carl Sobel as well as Detroit-based comedians Esteban Touma and Camila Ballario.

Along with comedy, the event will feature food trucks, free food and an art auction. Babysitters will be available on-site for parents who want to attend the 18+ event…
