Initial hearing held for Whitestown homeowner accused of fatally shooting cleaning worker

WHITESTOWN, Ind. — An initial hearing was held Friday morning for the Whitestown homeowner who was charged for his alleged role in the fatal shooting of a cleaning worker who went to the wrong house.

Curt Andersen, 62, has been charged with voluntary manslaughter after 32-year-old María Florinda Ríos Pérez, of Indianapolis, was fatally shot around 7 a.m. Nov. 5 on Maize Lane in the Heritage subdivision.
