Estranged Wife of Suspended Osceola County Sheriff Allegedly Received Casino Money, Court Docs Reveal

The case involving the estranged wife of suspended Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez has taken a new turn with court documents implicating her in receiving casino money. According to WFTV, state witness and Eclipse Social Club owner, Krishna Deokaran, is set to testify about a cash exchange with Robin Severance-Lopez, further entangling her in the ongoing investigation.

Allegedly, around the time the casino opened in 2022, Deokaran gave a tour of the new establishment to both Severance-Lopez and the then-active Sheriff, showcasing the slot machines hopeful this would be the beginning of a lucrative silent partnership after which a payment, stated to be from casino proceeds, was made to Severance-Lopez in the sheriff’s office parking lot, according to court records; Deokaran commented, “This is for Marcos,” to which Robin Severance-Lopez simply replied, “Thanks.” These details emerged from court documents filed in Lake County court, as reported by WESH.

While Robin Severance-Lopez’s attorney, Michelle Yard, has contested the legitimacy of the claims, stating, “These new and unsubstantiated allegations against Robin Lopez stem from the self-interested testimony of a witness who is cooperating with the prosecution in hopes of securing leniency for himself,” as detailed by WESH.
