Containing balls, dolls, stuffed animals, toy trucks, sunglasses, brushes, watches, crayons and more, red and green shoeboxes soon will travel from north Alabama to third-world countries. The shoeboxes represent the only Christmas millions of children around the world will receive.
“The entire purpose of Operation Christmas Child is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ through a tangible gift of God’s love. That is what the shoeboxes represent — God’s love,” said Tammi Burruss, the area coordinator for North-Central Alabama’s Operation Christmas Child.
