LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A firefighter was injured on Saturday while responding to a house fire in the Highview neighborhood, officials say.
According to Fern Creek Fire, firefighters responded to a structure fire at around 7:30 p.m. in the 7200 block of Apple Mill Road on Saturday, Nov. 22. At the scene, first responders found smoke coming from the home.
While fighting the fire, a Fern Creek firefighter fell through burnt flooring and was injured. They were taken to a local hospital and are expected to recover from what appear to be minor injuries.
