Thousands of turkeys distributed to families in need

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — An event collecting frozen turkeys for Louisville families far exceeded the organizers’ goals. And on Friday the birds landed in homes across the city.

  • “Turkey Stock” exceeded their goal collecting over 7,000 turkeys
  • Kentucky Harvest was able to donate to more partners
  • Exodus Family Ministries recieved turkeys and added them to their holiday boxes
  • Along with surpassing their turkey goal, they were also able to collect $85,000 in donations

Phyllis Helm, who received one of the holiday boxes, said the support couldn’t have come at a better time.

“Utilities and stuff have went up; they’re going to go up again, and people’s income hasn’t gone up,” she said…
