Canandaigua, N.Y. — A redevelopment project kicked off Friday in Ontario County.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held for the Hunter House. The project will transform a long-abandoned Labelon factory on Chapin Street into a 51-unit apartment complex.
The building was once the nation’s largest manufacturer of women’s corsets until it began producing parachutes for bombs and signal flares during World War II.
