Police investigate fire and theft of battalion vehicle in Jacksonville

The Jacksonville Police Department alongside Pender County officials, are investigating a structure fire and vehicle theft. The Jacksonville Fire Department was dispatched to a working structure fire at 413 Nelson Drive on Saturday around 3:09 p.m.

While fighting the fire, a battalion command vehicle was taken from the scene. It was later discovered by Pender County officials at 4635 NC Highway 50.

At this time, an individual who is believed to be in connection with the stolen JFD vehicle has been taken into custody…
