Christmas Tree Lighting Turns Violent in South Carolina

Concord, SC – A festive community event turned chaotic Friday night when a shooting at Concord’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony left four individuals injured, including two of the alleged shooters. Three teenagers are now facing charges in connection with the incident.

The Concord Police Department has issued an arrest warrant for 18-year-old Nasir Adhmad Bostic of Concord. He is charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill and inciting a riot. Bostic was among those wounded and remained hospitalized in critical condition as of Saturday.

Seventeen-year-old Keyvyonn Rayshaund Bostic was arrested shortly after the 7:30 p.m. shooting. He is being prosecuted as an adult and faces charges of accessory after the fact and inciting a riot. Keyvyonn Bostic was uninjured in the incident.

Additionally, a juvenile, who also sustained injuries and is in critical condition, has an arrest warrant out for assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury with intent to kill, two counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied property inflicting serious injury, and inciting a riot.

Two other 17-year-olds were also wounded and transported to a local hospital. One remains in critical condition, while the other has since been released.

Authorities indicated that the shooting allegedly occurred between Nasir Bostic and the unnamed juvenile, both of whom reportedly knew each other and were the only individuals to fire shots.

Several first responders from the Concord Police Department, Concord Fire Department, and Cabarrus County Emergency Medical Services were present at the tree lighting ceremony and promptly provided life-saving care to the four injured youths.
