Residents and businesses in unincorporated Palm Beach County will not have garbage, recycling, yard waste, or bulk waste collection on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27, 2025. The Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County (SWA) announced that all offices and facilities will be closed for the holiday. Customer Information Services will also be unavailable. There will be no makeup collection for waste missed on this day.
Regular waste collection will resume on the next scheduled service days. Garbage collection will occur on Monday, December 1. Recycling, yard waste, and bulk waste services will resume on Thursday, December 4. The SWA allows residents to place extra garbage outside their SWA carts on the Friday, Saturday, and Monday after Thanksgiving, as well as from December 26 through January 1. All extra garbage must be bagged and weigh less than 50 pounds per bag.
Recycling guidelines remain the same. Residents can place extra or large cardboard next to the yellow recycling bin, but all non-cardboard packing materials must be removed. Yard waste is limited to six cubic yards on the next collection day. Bulk waste is limited to three items at the curb. SWA administrative offices will also be closed on Friday, November 28.
