Unattended pot the cause of early morning house fire, officials say

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department says an unattended pot on the stove was determined to be the cause of a house fire on Friday morning, Nov. 21.

Firefighters responded to the scene in the 11100 block of Tams Drive around 4 a.m. Upon arrival, smoke and flames could be seen inside the home through a front window. Crews worked to extinguish the fire while searching the home for occupants.

A child was able to get out of the home before they arrived, while an adult was located inside during the search and also able to exit safely…
