World War II veteran celebrates birthday at home in Baton Rouge

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — World War II veteran Floyd Ourso Sr. celebrated his birthday a week early at his home in Baton Rouge.

His daughter-in-law, Charlene Ourso, said the party was “wonderful” with almost 50 visitors, including family, friends, neighbors, and people the family had just met.

Others who attended the party included Ascension Parish Sheriff Bobby Webre,along with a member of the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, the LSU Police Department, and Jason Sedotal, Commander at the Military Order of the Purple Heart in Baton Rouge.

Charlene said the World War II veteran was overwhelmed with joy and is thanking everyone for taking their time and sending love to him…
