BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — More than 200 local families will have a little extra to be thankful for this holiday season. Constable Terrica Williams is teaming up with LIUNA Local 99 for a major community turkey giveaway aimed at helping residents prepare full Thanksgiving meals without financial strain.
The free event will take place at 4 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 24, at the Laborers Union Hall, 1233 Government St. Registration is not required, but distribution will be first-come, first-served.
Organizers will give out more than 200 turkeys. They will also provide non-perishable food items and extra ingredients to help families prepare meals during Thanksgiving week…
