PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – The director of the Portland Housing Bureau is out after spending the last three weeks on administrative leave.
Helmi Hisserich submitted her resignation letter to Mayor Keith Wilson on Thursday, the same day city leaders were alerted to millions of dollars in unspent housing funds.

KOIN 6 News spoke with Hisserich on Friday, who said she was placed on paid administrative leave at the end of October and given three weeks to decide whether she would submit her resignation and accept a $240,885 severance package equivalent to her year’s salary.
