The Running:
The fairgrounds aren’t exactly a runner’s paradise, but the good news is that you’re less than three miles from more paved mileage than you could ever need.
If you’re coming from outside the capital city and want to get your run in beforehand, we recommend starting at Riverfront Park in downtown Salem. A loop around the park is roughly a mile, and if you cross the Peter Courtney Bridge (aka “the taco bridge” to locals), you’ll land in Minto Brown Park — the crown jewel of Salem running. The paved paths are beautiful, and you’ll also find stretches of gravel and easy singletrack to mix things up…
