Former Director at Korean Church in Washington Accused of Embezzling $1 Million

A former employee at a Korean church based in Bothell, Washington, has been accused of embezzling more than $1 million from the congregation over a seven-year period.

Pastor Hwan Chul Seong, executive director Community Church of Seattle, who oversaw finances of the church and its affiliated school, allegedly stole the money by transferring it between various accounts. He inflated fees and falsified bank statements, according to the Korea Times.
