Tajiri Christmas tree lot returns for the holidays

HONOLULU (KHON2) – Christmas Hawai’i has started selling Christmas trees again at the Ala Moana Center parking lot.

After 50 years, ‘Christmas Hawaii’ hopes to continue its legacy

The Tajiri family has been bringing holiday trees to Hawai’i for more than 50 years. But this season is different because Paula Tajiri is stepping back after the passing of her husband, Richard. She said it’s emotional but important to keep the business going.

Customers who have been coming for years say the tree lot feels like a tradition. Some families have shopped there for more than two decades.

Flocked trees are for sale now, and more green trees will arrive on Tuesday. Christmas Hawai’i is open every day from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m…
