The visitor recounted an experience at the airport where a local resident, who commutes between Oahu and Maui for work, engaged him in a friendly conversation, offering travel suggestions and generally being very kind. This level of friendliness, according to the visitor, is not something he has commonly encountered in his travels. He acknowledged the patience and outgoing nature of the locals despite the constant influx of tourists, attributing it to the unique culture of the place. The visitor also mentioned hearing about the promising news of increased ridership in the new train system and other positive developments in the area.
