BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — Battle Creek resident, Brenda Reed, begins each morning with a walk around her neighborhood, extending “good mornings” to kids at the bus stop.
But Reed says those walks haven’t been the same since multiple trees were left with fresh cuts and missing limbs.
“When it first happened, I was so upset,” Reed said. “You go and see this, what they’ve done, and it’s just destruction.”
A tree in Reed’s front yard got the same treatment earlier this month, when Consumers Energy trimmed it as part of their Proactive Line Clearing initiative, an effort to minimize power outages and improve reliability over 8,000 miles of power lines this year…
