KNOXVILLE, Tenn — After weeks of waiting, Knox County Deputy Dalton Swanger’s girlfriend said his tracheal resection surgery is officially scheduled.
Back in June, Swanger spent several days at the University of Tennessee Medical Center after being struck in the head by either a large rock or brick while responding to reports of gunshots near Stanley Road on June 22, the Knox County Sheriff’s Office said.
This injury led to him to be placed on a ventilator while in a coma, which his girlfriend Stephania Pumphrey said may be what caused him to have tracheal stenosis, a condition that narrows the trachea…
