A Clermont woman will appear in court after claiming to have forgotten to scan $236 worth of merchandise at Walmart.
An officer responded to Walmart, located at 1450 John’s Lake Rd., where 44-year-old Shannon Vaughn was caught shoplifting at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, according to a case report from the Clermont Police Department.
An employee advised that Vaughn was seen mis-scanning several items at a self-checkout register. She paid for some things but missed $236.69 worth of merchandise, including bleach, slippers, a hoodie, wood dowels, ground beef, Grinch-themed items and a straw topper.
