Upcoming US-127 Ramp and Lane Closures in Lansing to Affect Local Traffic Starting November 20

Starting Thursday, November 20, 2025, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will close several ramps and lanes on US-127 in Lansing. These closures are part of the ongoing US-127/I-496 rebuilding project, which has a budget of $205 million. The project aims to improve safety and traffic flow. It covers the area from I-96 to I-496 and is funded by the Rebuilding Michigan program.

Key closures include the Dunckel Road entrance ramp to southbound US-127, which will close Thursday night. The southbound US-127 Exit 73A to eastbound I-96 will close over the weekend. The northbound US-127 ramp to westbound I-496 will stay closed into the following week for more construction. Single-lane closures in both directions of US-127 are expected in the coming weeks as work continues.

More ramp closures at the I-496/US-127 interchange are planned for the week after Thanksgiving. These will affect exits to Kalamazoo Street and Trowbridge Road. Short-term closures for final ramp work will continue through the week ending December 14, 2025…
