Rincon community raises money for child with leukemia

RINCON, Ga. (WTOC) – The city of Rincon showed up Saturday in support of one little boy who was diagnosed with cancer at just one year old.

After a one-year-old baby was diagnosed with leukemia, the decision to rally behind the local family receiving that unimaginable news was an easy one for the Rincon community. A fundraiser hoped to raise money and awareness for Triton’s family.

Family faces years of treatment ahead

Triton Ross, at just one year old, will now spend the next 2.5 years in and out of the hospital for months at a time, receiving chemo treatments after his recent diagnosis.

“As a young parent I think this is the hardest thing of my life,” said Trevor Ross, Triton’s father. “And so now it’s a battle of he just learned how to walk maybe three to four months ago, and now he can barely walk, so we are trying to keep him, you know, learning how to stay stable like he was.”

Community comes together

Saturday, friends, family and neighbors rallied behind the Ross family to help with the medical bills to come…
