Man airlifted to hospital after vehicle fire breaks out in Accokeek, officials say

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — One person was hospitalized with serious injuries Saturday night after a fire broke out in Accokeek, according to officials.

The Prince George’s County Fire and EMS Department said crews responded to the outside fire in the 15800 block of Sharpersville Road just before 9 p.m. There, they found a vehicle on fire, with the flames extending into the surrounding brush.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze. Meanwhile, officials said a Maryland State Police helicopter airlifted one person— a man— to the hospital in critical condition.
