Police identify vehicle in death of Kansas City woman in hit-and-run

Excelsior Springs authorities report they have identified the vehicle connected to a hit-and-run that killed 35-year-old Mary Levingston of Kansas City on November 12.

Police say detectives have located and spoken with the driver believed to be involved. According to the department, the individual is cooperating while investigators continue collecting and processing evidence. Once the case is fully reviewed, information will be turned over to the Ray County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for potential charges.

Officers responded on November 12 after a 911 caller reported a body in the roadway in the 1000 block of Fredericksburg Road. Law enforcement found Levingston deceased on the road’s shoulder.
