A disturbing incident occurred in the Rankin Avenue Garage on November 21st, as reported by a social media user. The user, who was walking back to her car around 7pm, encountered a man in his mid to late 30s, with a moderate build, dark beanie, olive-ish green quarter-sleeve shirt, and dark pants. The man was standing at the top of the staircase leading to the third level of the garage. The user felt threatened by the man’s behavior, which included blocking the doorway and making strange gestures. Fearing for her safety, the user fled down the stairs, alerting parking attendants about the man. However, the attendants did not take any action. The user later reported the incident to two Asheville Police Department (APD) officers, who advised her that filing a report would be a waste of time.
