As country music icon John Berry once again begins his 29th annual “Christmas with John Berry” tour at the Eagle Theatre in Sugar Hill, there’s one thing of which he is certain — he will not be home for Thanksgiving.
For the last several years, the Grammy Award-winning Berry has kicked off his holiday run at the Eagle, where he and his five-piece band rehearse in the days before the tour’s opening night, which is set for 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28.
“We’ll load in on Sunday and we’ll be there all week,” said Berry, who this year will visit 17 cities, including four stops in Georgia. “We’ll start rehearsing Monday morning and we’ll rehearse Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and all that time the tech guys will be working on the sound and lights. We’ll take Thursday off and do a run-through after lunch on Friday and the first show is Friday night.”…
