GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – A person was killed during an officer-involved shooting in the Guntersville area on Saturday, according to Marshall County Sheriff’s officials.
In a statement released by Marshall County Sheriff Phil Sims and Chief Darnell Ryan, authorities said the incident was related to an underage sex sting joint operation conducted by the Guntersville Police Department, the FBI, HSI, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, the Marshall County Drug Task Force, and the DA’s Office.
The operation took place in Warrenton Shores in the Guntersville area. Authorities said a suspect was killed in the shooting, and the coroner’s office responded and is in the process of notifying the next of kin of the suspect at this time. No officers were injured during the shooting…
