On Friday, Gov. Kay Ivey and Speaker Nathaniel Ledbetter expressed their commitment to ensuring fair play for student-athletes after a court decision to maintain the Temporary Restraining Order in their lawsuit against the Alabama High School Athletic Association.
“Our mission is to simply let the kids play,” they said in a joint statement. The leaders emphasized their willingness to work with the AHSAA to prevent discrimination against CHOOSE Act student-athletes.
“With today’s court decision, the temporary restraining order remains in place, allowing our CHOOSE Act student-athletes to continue competing. We look forward to finding a permanent solution,” they said…
