EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Staff at the Otero County Prison Facility and the Otero County Processing Center continued their Thanksgiving tradition last week by donating holiday baskets and turkeys to families in Chaparral, Alamogordo and Northeast El Paso.
On Tuesday, Nov. 17, staff from the Otero County Processing Center delivered Thanksgiving baskets to 30 families in the Chaparral community, working closely with local social workers to ensure support reached those who needed it most.
On Wednesday morning, both facilities traveled together to Alamogordo Public Schools, where they met with the Health Services Department and school social workers. A total of 30 baskets were delivered. During the visit, wardens and staff had the opportunity to meet one of the families picking up their basket, making the impact feel even more personal, officials with the Otero County facilities said.
Later that Wednesday afternoon, the Otero County Prison Facility delivered 10 baskets to Coach Archie Duran Elementary School in Northeast El Paso. Staff met with the principal, assistant principal, and social worker who had reached out requesting support for students’ families…
