City roadway renamed for Gypsy

A street dog that captured the hearts of Yukon now has part of a city roadway named in her memory.

The Yukon City Council, at its Tuesday night meeting, voted unanimously to rename a portion of the sanitation driveway road area in front of the Yukon Transfer Station as Gypsy Crossing. The council authorized the city manager to produce appropriate signage.

Ward 4 Council Member Adam Shriver’s motion included having a council proclamation designating “Gypsy Day” in Yukon.
