Springfield Starbucks union workers join strike
Unionized Starbucks baristas in Springfield joined a nationwide strike Thursday, Nov. 20, picketing outside the store in the 1000 block East Battlefield Road.
The nationwide unfair labor practice strike began Nov. 13. Union Starbucks workers are rallying to demand the coffee giant finalize a union contract with improved staffing, hours, take-home pay, and on-the-job protections for baristas.
With baristas in 25 new cities joining the picket lines, the strike now includes 2,000 union Starbucks baristas from 95 stores across 65 cities, a union news release said.
