A routine traffic stop in Minneapolis led to more serious charges when officers arrested a driver and a passenger, the Minneapolis Police Department reported on its social media. On a recent patrol near 15th Street and Park Avenue South, officers from the 1st Precinct initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle. They encountered a driver who exhibited signs of impairment, including slurred speech, suggesting the possibility of substance influence.
The interior of the car revealed the presence of various drug paraphernalia. With two passengers in the back seat watching, police checked all individuals’ backgrounds. According to the Minneapolis Police Department’s Facebook post, it turned out that one of the passengers had not just illegal drugs on his person but also an active felony warrant.
