I-40 in Arkansas ranks third nationally for winter crash rates, analysis finds

FORT SMITH, Ark. (NEXSTAR/KNWA/KFTA) – A new report from San Francisco-based fleet management platform Samsara highlights the most dangerous stretches of road in the U.S., and I-40 in Arkansas ranks third nationally.

Samsara found that the national crash rate jumped 13 percent during Thanksgiving week, with a 65 percent spike on the Sunday after the holiday.

This Thanksgiving, a record 81.8 million people are expected to travel at least 50 miles from home between Tuesday, Nov. 25 and Monday, Dec. 1, according to the American Automobile Association (AAA).
