ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque police have arrested a man they say fatally beat a man overnight at a West Side gas station. Gabriel Rodriguez, 33, was arrested at his home on Sunday by APD homicide detectives.
Police say officers responded to a call at the Maverik Gas Station at 9701 Bluewater Rd. NW just before midnight Saturday evening to check on a man who was bleeding. Although first aid was attempted by officers, the man died on the scene.

A witness told a gas station employee that the suspect punched the victim in the face and ran off. APD says video surveillance shows two men talking in front of the gas station. The video shows the victim extending an empty hand, and the suspect immediately punching the victim four times in the face. An employee of the Maverik recognized the suspect as a regular customer.
Officers used license plate readers to locate the Infinity sedan shown in the video to assist in the apprehension of Rodriguez. He is being charged with an open count of murder and will be booked into the Metro Detention Center…
