Saratoga County, NY (WRGB) — An Albany County inmate is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges after being arrested Wednesday on a warrant issued by the Halfmoon Town Court, according to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators say the charges stem from an incident on April 11, 2025, when 29-year-old Hunter Thompson reportedly stole a victim’s debit card in the town of Halfmoon and used their identity to obtain more than $500. He is also accused of taking the victim’s motor vehicle without permission and stealing their Social Security card and driver’s license.
Thompson has been taken into custody and is facing several charges, including:
- Identity Theft in the 2nd Degree, Class E felony
- Grand Larceny in the 4th Degree, Class E felony
- Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree, Class A misdemeanor
- Petit Larceny, Class A misdemeanor
