Felony Cocaine Charges Filed Following NC 231 Traffic Stop

JOHNSTON COUNTY – A routine traffic stop on NC Highway 231 led to the arrests of two Wake County men after officers reportedly found narcotics.

Around 9:33 p.m. on Nov. 20, deputies said they stopped a vehicle driven by Antoine De-Shawn Carrington, 45, of Raleigh, with Justin Darnell Alston, 44, also of Raleigh, as a passenger. During the stop, officers allegedly discovered a small quantity of cocaine and marijuana.

Both men were charged with felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Alston faced an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance in jail after deputies reportedly found drugs concealed on his person during processing at the Johnston County Detention Center…
