Last night, what started as mere enforcement of parking rules at a Mapco near I-40 in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, unexpectedly spiraled into an apprehension that crossed state lines. Mt. Juliet Police were addressing a handicapped parking violation when they stumbled upon a 41-year-old Georgia woman who was wanted for felony theft since 2021. According to a social media post by the Mt. Juliet Police, the wanted individual came from Baldwin County, Alabama, and the parking infraction played a decisive role in bringing her on the radar.
The routine check quickly turned investigatory as the officers present were able to swiftly uncover the outstanding warrant. The woman’s anonymity was dissolved by due diligence and perhaps, happenstance, as law enforcement was compelled to not only fine but to also delve deeper. “While investigating a handicapped parking violation tonight at Mapco near I-40, one of our officers discovered a 41-year-old woman who had been wanted since 2021,” the police department cited.

Following the revelation, the woman was taken into custody without incident. The subsequent booking at Wilson County Jail marked the beginning of her wait for extradition back to Alabama…
