Anticipated Surfside Beach pier restaurant opens its doors. What they’re serving

An anticipated addition to the newly reconstructed Surfside Pier has officially opened its doors to customers.

The wooden Surfside Pier was destroyed by Hurricane Matthew in 2016 and needed to be rebuilt, but construction delays and other issues meant it didn’t open until last year, The Sun News previously reported. Crews broke ground on the new pier in December 2020.

The Whistling Duck operates among its neighbors on the pier: Drippy’s Homemade Ice Cream and Perry’s Bait and Tackle, which are already open, and the Surf Diner, which has faced delays in its opening…
