Update: Multiple fire departments contain large wildfire in west Gadsden County

GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – Crews from multiple departments contained a large wildfire in west Gadsden County on Saturday.

Sammy Rudd with the Chattahoochee Fire Department said the incident happened due to a previous fire that started up in the area of Hardaway Road and Cochran Road on Friday. He said it is unknown how that fire started but the Florida Forest Service cut lines around it.

Later on Saturday, the fire was somehow rekindled and covered about 4 acres of land, according to Rudd. It is “undetermined” how the fire was rekindled…
