RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — The Raleigh Police Department said one person is dead after officers said she was hit by multiple vehicles on the interstate Friday night.
According to police, the incident happened just after 8:30 p.m. between the Wake Forest Road and Six Forks Road exits on Interstate 440.
One person is dead as a result of the crash, police said, and all westbound lanes of I-440 between Wake Forest Road and Six Forks Road were closed from 8:40 p.m. Friday until 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
Pedestrian ‘lying in roadway’ hit, killed on Dillon Road in High Point, police say
Police identified the pedestrian as 30-year-old Qui Yana Kellon. They said Kellon was hit by multiple vehicles on the highway.
“It was determined that Qui Yana Kellon was walking westbound on the white lane dividers in the travel lanes between the number three and four lanes of I-440 West when she was struck by a 2024 Hyundai Elantra,” said police. “Ms. Kellon was then struck by other vehicles. All parties involved remained at the scene.”…
