UT Austin issues cease and desist order to fraternity following wrongful death lawsuit

The University of Texas at Austin has delivered a cease and desist notice to one of its fraternities following a wrongful death lawsuit.

The lawsuit, filed last week, claimed a Houston-area UT student died by suicide after being subjected to horrific hazing.

“UT Austin is committed to providing a safe educational environment for everyone and does not tolerate hazing by any group or individual affiliated with the University,” the University said in a statement. “All such allegations receive the utmost attention and thorough investigation.”…
